Steps to sign up

As a member of your respective schools’ surf team, you already have an account—please do not create a new one unless you are new to Surf Academy!

You will get to choose which option your grom wants: single division, 2 divisions, 3 divisions. ​​​
FOR EXAMPLE: Sally Surfer wants to surf girls long, shortboard, and bodyboard—that’s three divisions. Wilbur Kookmeyer wants to surf boys shortboard and bodyboard—that’s two divisions. SpongeBob Squarepants wants to surf longboard—that’s one division. We *highly* suggest surfing as many divisions as possible, simply because the more you participate, the higher the fun quotient. It’s surf math. ;-)

Once you have chosen the number of divisions and pay: you go to the "Surf Contest" Tab in Mindbody and scroll to the date of the event you want to sign up for.
YOU MUST SIGN UP 3 DAYS PRIOR to the event (or you wont even see the "Sign in" button) that's 7am by Thu before the Sun contests. Sign in for each of the divisions your grom wants—choose appropriate grade and board type. The divisions you purchased are “credits” in your Mindbody account until you click a division to enter your grom onto the roster.

Contests may be postponed or cancelled due to unsafe/unfavorable conditions such as rain, high surf advisory, high wind, fog, pollution, etc. This is very likely to happen between Oct - Jan, and less likely in spring into summer. In case of cancellation, any purchase you make my either be used for a subsequent contest, used as a credit towards another purchase, or refunded in the event of a cancellation on our/mother natures part. If you would like your credit to be used toward another purchase or refunded, please contact us.

In case of low enrollment, we reserve the right to combine grade/age groups as we see fit. You will be notified of any changes when we post the Heat Schedule Sheet or by email.

A purchase of 3 divisions is meant to be used for 1 surf contest, not over the course of 3 contests for 1 division per contest.
