Surf Lessons

Surf Academy offers a variety surf lesson options for all levels.

All of our lessons include the equipment you will need: soft surfboard, wetsuit, leash and our friendly knowledge instructors.

Our Surf Academy instructors will make your surfing experience memorable whether it’s your first time on a board or if you are taking your current surfing skills to the next level. Our staff are friendly, well-trained, experienced surfers that love to share the stoke of the ocean. Our innovative teaching methods really work and you will be hanging ten in no time. Group Lessons

For those of you who love having fun with others, we offer our group lessons on weekends from Spring to Fall. These are fun, informative and cost effective surf lessons. Classes are two hours and cost $50 for a single class and $185 for a series of 4 lessons. Class sizes vary but the ratio of student to instructor remains at 5 to 1 or better. Get more information...

*From July through August the City of Santa Monica requires all weekend group lessons are walk up registration only paid by cash or check, first come first served. No advance reservations allowed during this time.

In the summer, Weekday Group Lessons are also offered in Santa Monica. Lesson times are 9am-11am and 12pm-2pm, Monday – Friday. Administered by the City of Santa Monica, these lessons are $65 each, payable by check or cash only. Walk up registration only, first come first served. No advance registration. Semi Private Lessons

This is for you and up to 3 of your friends (we do not match up groups) with one dedicated instructor. Semi-Private lessons are 1-1/4 hours and are scheduled year-round, conditions permitting. Semi-Private lessons are scheduled in advance and you select the date, time and location when you register. Cost is $65/person for a single or $180/person for a series of 3 lessons. Private Lessons

This is a one on one experience with you and an instructor. Private lessons are 1-1/4 hours and are scheduled year-round, conditions permitting. How to Sign Up for Private Lessons All lessons require advance registration, which is easy as you can register on-line, by mail or fax. To register online, create a surfer account which will enable you to manage your lessons in a central location. Once we receive your completed registration we schedule and confirm your lesson via email. The first step in signing up for any surf lesson is to register. For our private and semi private surf lessons, we custom schedule to your exact request. Simply submit a registration form with all of your information and we make it happen. Yes, you get to choose the day, time, location and even your choice of instructors. You can submit your registration on-line or by fax/mail. We need the completed registration before we can schedule and confirm your lesson. In requesting a lesson, the sooner you submit your registration the better your chances of getting exactly what you want. We recommend a minimum of 48 hours in requesting a private or semi private lesson. Group lesson signup...
